Director of Children’s Overnight Respite & Social Rec Sheila Downing-Ruth currently works full-time at a pediatric hospital in the Occupational Therapy department working with children with multiple disabilities. Her work with this population has given her a better understanding of the everyday life of a child with disabilities and ways that she can help them to succeed to the best of their abilities. This experience and insight certainly help her in her role at HOPe. Ateam player who is willing to help wherever needed, Sheilatakes great pride in her work. She has found that belonging to the HOPe community means that even for a small portion of the day, she is able to give some respite to the families of our clients so they can refuel and recharge.
