Brockton Career & Community Initiative (BCCI) Awarded $300,000 Planning Grant from Liberty Mutual
House of Possibilities (HOPe) is pleased to announce that Liberty Mutual Insurance has awarded a $300,000 planning grant to the Brockton Career & Community Initiative (BCCI) as part of its inaugural Impact Driven Collaboration (IDC) grant program. This grant will fund the first phase of 16 collaborative projects, aimed at addressing major societal challenges. BCCI, a partnership between HOPe, JVS Boston (Jewish Vocational Service), and Old Colony YMCA (OCY), will focus on providing young adults with disabilities in Greater Brockton access to resources that encourage career development and help them lead more fulfilling lives.
BCCI will serve young adults, ages 18-30, from a range of backgrounds and disability types. This includes high school students, recent graduates, and those who are unemployed or underemployed. JVS will lead the collaborative partnership in designing the overall project, incorporating input from BCCI partners while providing workforce training and job placement services. HOPe programs will focus on community integration, skill development, and personal growth through meaningful engagement and social interaction, and OCY will offer various healthy living and employment opportunities for BCCI clients.
“There is an increasing need for comprehensive support services for young adults with disabilities in Greater Brockton. This grant will be instrumental in forging powerful partnerships that bridge the gap and provide these individuals with the tools they need to thrive.” - Katie Terino, House of Possibilities President & CEO
The IDC grant program continues Liberty Mutual Foundation’s efforts to bring together community members, foster collaboration, and leverage the unique expertise of the nonprofit community to make a significant impact. Equipped with this generous funding from Liberty Mutual, BCCI will offer a continuum of services that connect young people with disabilities to work-based learning experiences and sustainable career opportunities, enabling them to thrive in their local communities.
